1. Nomination for Vice President/Conference Chair/President-Elect:  Lani Hahn
Lani’s Bio:”I graduated from Clarion University with my Masters in Library Science in December 2014.  Prior to obtaining my MLS, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with a concentration of Library Science in 2012 and a Library Technical Assistant Specialized Diploma in 2008.  I began my career in libraries in 2007 at the Hellertown Area Library (Pennsylvania) as a Library Assistant.  From there I moved to Texas, obtaining a job as a Library Aide in the Grand Prairie Memorial Library, and then moving on to the Colleyville Public Library.  At the Colleyville Library, I started as a Library Assistant/Lead, moved onto Assistant Librarian, and ended as the Youth Services Librarian.  From Texas, I moved to Delaware as the Assistant Director at the Georgetown Public Library.

“During my career I have been involved in children’s, teens, and adult services; technical services, with experience in copy and original cataloging; circulation services; and library administration.  My job duties have included everything from shelving, to fundraising, to preschool story time to teen advisory boards to collection development (and all that’s in between)!”

2. Nomination for Chapter Councilor: Lauren Wallis
Lauren’s Bio:  Lauren is the First Year Experience and Student Success Librarian at the University of Delaware. In this role, she works with populations of students who are in periods of transition, including first-year UD students, high school dual-enrollment classes, and Associate in Arts students who complete a two-year UD degree on DTCC campuses. Through her work with these students, as well as the UDLib/SEARCH program that provides database access to K-12 schools, she has been able to meet and collaborate with librarians and other educators who work with a wide variety of patrons throughout the state. She would welcome the opportunity to serve as ALA Councilor and represent the interests of librarians who reach Delaware residents at all stages of life and learning.

Lauren’s professional interests include collaborating with instructors on curricular integration of information literacy, developing library outreach programs in residence halls and student centers, and teaching information literacy skills for participatory online environments. She has recent publications in Metaliteracy in Practice (Eds. Mackey and Jacobson) and the Critical Library Pedagogy Handbook (Eds. Pagowsky and McElroy). She holds a MLIS and MA in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

3. Nomination for Treasurer:  Joel Rudnick

Joel’s Bio:  “Hello, bio readers.  My name, as stated, is Joel Rudnick.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies from the University of Delaware in 2008, followed by my Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009.  My first position in a library was at the University of Delaware’s Morris Library as a student assistant.  I interned at two of Pitt’s libraries, working the reference desks at Hillman Library and the Finney Music Library, as well as doing cataloging in the Music Library.  I have worked at three academic libraries in a professional capacity since then:   Goldey-Beacom College, Delaware Technical Community College’s Terry Campus Library, and Betze Library at DTCC Owens Campus, where I work currently.  Along the way, I volunteered at Newark Free Library and at Hagley Museum and Library.

“I am currently Interim Treasurer of the Delaware Library Association and would be proud and happy to be elected for the next two-year term.  In addition to being already acquainted with Quickbooks and the Treasurer’s routine, I am conscientious, intelligent, and have a head for numbers.  Also, like many of my fellow librarians, I am kind and approachable, having a sincere desire to help.  I would be more than happy to answer any member’s questions about the Treasurer’s reports or other questions that would fall into my purview as Treasurer.”
