Consider Joining DASL!

DASL is an organization that allows for collaboration among all of the school librarians in Delaware. It is valuable because each one of us is isolated within a school with minimal ways to communicate with other local librarians who are in the same position. The annual dues go toward supporting the overall Delaware Library Association. With the DLA budget, we can financially support new initiatives like an annual professional development day and other events. Please consider joining DASL as your membership in your professional organization!

Each state has a book award program to encourage students to get involved in book evaluation and advocacy. The current program in Delaware is searching for active school librarians to participate in the committee to improve our award program and increase student involvement. We need people who enjoy web design, social media design, product design, reading free books, communicating with publishers, and deciding the best books for our nomination list. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please email stephanie.saggione@laaa.k12.de.us.

School librarians can easily participate with their students by reading aloud a few of the selected titles and voting with students on a favorite. To participate this spring, email stephanie.saggione@laaa.k12.de.us
