Call for Silent Auction Items and Assistance @ MLA/DLA Conference
Are you crafty or know someone who is? Do you have a valuable skill to offer? Do you have a nice painting or framed print that you’ve been meaning to find a good home for? Do you want to help Delaware libraries?
On behalf of the Silent Auction committee, we would like to ask you to please consider donating items or services to the Delaware Library Association’s (DLA) Silent Auction. The Silent Auction will be held at the MLA/DLA Annual Conference on May 3 and 4 at the Hyatt-Chesapeake in Cambridge, Maryland. No donation is too small! The only restriction is items must fit in an average size car for transport to and from the Conference. Some ideas for donations include hand-made or re-gifted works of art, decorative items, hand painted glasses or vases, pottery, hand-made jewelry, anything literature related, a one-on-one session with a master gardener, a cooking lesson or lessons, gift cards, and anything else you can think of!
DLA is a non-profit organization and all proceeds from the auction go directly to DLA, which advocates for all libraries across the state and provides continuing education opportunities for library staff. Any contribution you can provide would be greatly appreciated. A letter acknowledging the donation will be sent to you, which can also be used as a tax receipt. We would be happy to display brochures, business cards, or any other promotional materials at the auction table along with your donated item(s).
The item itself is not needed today. But if you plan to donate, please let me know soon!
Thanks,
Kay Bowes
